Frequently asked questions

Can I message anyone on Messenger?+

No. Meta's platform policies require that a user initiate the conversation, or that you have a valid message tag (such as a confirmed event update or post-purchase update). Promotional broadcasts to people who have not messaged you are not permitted.

What is the 24-hour messaging window?+

Once a user messages your Page, you have 24 hours to send standard messages, including promotional content. After that window, you can only send messages that fit specific Meta-approved tags such as account updates or confirmed event reminders.

Do I need a Facebook Page?+

Yes. Messenger for business runs on top of a Facebook Page, so you must have a Page that you administer. Personal Messenger accounts cannot be connected to WellPlan or any other business messaging tool.

Will old messages import?+

When you connect a Page, recent conversations are typically loaded into the inbox so your team has context. Going forward, every new message and reply syncs in real time alongside email, SMS, and other channels.
