No. WhatsApp only allows outbound messages to users who have opted in to receive them, and those messages must use a template approved by Meta. Free-form replies are only permitted inside the 24-hour customer service window opened by an inbound message.

What is the 24-hour session window?+

When a customer messages your business, a 24-hour window opens during which you can send free-form replies at no per-message template fee. After the window closes, you must use an approved template to re-engage that contact.

Do I need a verified Meta Business account?+

Yes. The official WhatsApp Business API requires a Meta Business Manager account and business verification. Verification involves submitting legal documents and confirming domain ownership before your number can be used for messaging at scale.

Can I use my existing WhatsApp number?+
