A/B Testing
Comparing two versions of a page, email, or ad against the same audience to see which performs better on a chosen metric.
Definition
A/B testing — also called split testing — is the process of randomly showing two (or more) variants of a marketing asset to comparable audiences and measuring which produces better results on a defined metric like click-through rate, conversion rate, or revenue per visitor. It requires a single variable change per test, a large enough sample to reach statistical significance, and a clear decision rule. It's used on landing pages, emails, ad creatives, and pricing.
Example
A landing page is split between headline A ("Save hours every week") and headline B ("Cut your admin time in half"). After 2,000 visitors, B converts 18% better and becomes the new default.
