Lead Magnet
A free resource — ebook, checklist, template, webinar — offered in exchange for a visitor's contact details.
Definition
A lead magnet is a piece of value-dense content given away to encourage a visitor to share their email, phone number, or other contact info. Common formats include PDF guides, checklists, swipe files, mini-courses, templates, calculators, and webinars. A good lead magnet solves a specific problem for a tightly defined audience and naturally leads into the product or service being sold. It's usually delivered through a landing page paired with a thank-you email.
Example
A B2B agency offers "The 2026 SEO Audit Checklist (PDF)" behind a form. Visitors who download it land in an automated nurture sequence and a sales pipeline.
